Travel Safety Operator - Middle East, Various
Stratum Global Risk provides travel risk management and operational support services to organisations operating internationally.
Through our Global Traveller platform, regional operational network and experienced operations team, we support corporate, NGO and institutional clients operating across complex environments.
Our work includes travel safety coordination, mobility support, operational liaison and crisis response assistance. To support these operations, we maintain a network of Travel Safety Operators (TSOs) who provide professional on-the-ground support to travellers and organisations across the region.
Role Overview
Travel Safety Operators support the safe and efficient movement of travellers operating internationally.
TSOs act as a professional liaison and operational support presence, assisting travellers with mobility coordination, situational awareness and operational communication.
The role combines elements of travel coordination, security awareness, route planning and emergency response capability.
Unlike traditional close protection roles, the Travel Safety Operator position focuses on situational awareness, communication, coordination and operational support, rather than overt security posture.
TSOs are deployed to support:
• executive travel
• operational travel in complex environments
• organisational delegations
• project teams operating internationally
• crisis response and assisted travel situations
Key Responsibilities
Travel Safety Operators may be tasked to:
• provide professional liaison support to travelling personnel
• coordinate secure and efficient ground movements
• maintain situational awareness of local environments
• monitor travel routes and operational conditions
• provide real-time updates to the Stratum operations centre
• assist travellers during unexpected disruptions or incidents
• support crisis response and assisted travel operations
• liaise with drivers, local providers and operational partners
• support emergency response where required
TSOs act as the on-the-ground extension of the Stratum operations centre and are responsible for maintaining clear communication and operational awareness throughout assignments.
Requirements
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
• recognised close protection or security operations qualification
• minimum 3 years demonstrable operational experience
• military or police background preferred
• native Arabic speaker
• fluent English (spoken and written)
• valid driving licence
• strong situational awareness and communication skills
• experience with route planning and mobility coordination
• understanding of mobile security procedures and protocols
• familiarity with radio and digital communications systems
• professional conduct and discretion when working with clients
Role Additional Skills (preferred)
• advanced driver training
• internationally recognised first aid or trauma care qualification
• experience supporting international organisations or NGOs
• familiarity with travel risk management procedures
• experience operating in complex environments
Legal Requirements
All Travel Safety Operators must:
• have the legal right to live and work in their operating country
• operate as independent consultants or subcontractors
• maintain professional standards of conduct and confidentiality
Engagement
Travel Safety Operators are engaged on a daily rate basis depending on location of deployment.
Typical deployments may include assignments across:
Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine & GCC countries
